Favero bePRO Power Meter Pedals

bepro power meter

I am very happy with this powermeter so far, and it has giving a great boost to my training! The battery life was one of my concerns, however I have only charged them twice so far, so the battery is definitely not an issue. Battery life between charges seems excellent. This was until now only available with the much more expensive P1 power meter by Powertab. I run primarily, and sometimes go fairly long periods without riding, so this is a bit of a concern for me. As I do however, on all power meters, I usually will do a few quick sprints around the block to settle things before doing a zero offset. It could be an issue with the Rider 310.

Review: Brandnew Assioma power meter by Favero // Powermeter24

My first tests with the Assiomas show higher values. Still — swapping each week for some reason? To compare, a PowerTap P1 pedal with battery weighs about 206g. They're better value than with no real compromises, so well worth the spend if you want power measurement that's easily transferred from one bike to another. As I see it, I would need to pull the pedals off the bike and have them sitting near the charger so I can top them off every 3 months to avoid battery issues. During production process, each battery is tested individually. The total weight per pedal is 149. Ensure both devices are set to the same crank length.

Test/Review: The new bePRO power meter by Favero

Of course, it depends on the wattage. The battery life is great, and I have only needed to recharge the batteries once. But then I went on a roadtrip, and with that there was the train ride down, lots of driving, etc… Before I knew it, I was re-charging my batteries again. Favero says the accuracy is unaffected in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 60°C good to know just in case you want to use them in a freezer or a sauna , and I found they were consistent whatever the weather. Just after the guarantee has expired. I am absolutely stoked with these pedals, and my only regret is not purchasing them sooner. If you dive into the settings on some head units, you can also see the battery state of the pedals, as well as the manufacturer and sometimes firmware version: This same data can be found on the Favero Assioma app as well.

Into this, you carefully place a sticker. If nothing else helps I could write some kind of script to find the bad data and replace it with zeroes and then convert back to. Has anyone else had this problem? I changed the pedals between 4 bikes. Accuracy seems bang-on, installation was super-easy, and so far battery life has been amazing. It also does not require any magnets for cadence, while also automatically correcting for any temperature drift. This may be a confusion of terminology but if I understand correctly what you mean by the end cap, that is, the visible, external, allen key tightened part, that does not keep the axle tight in the pedal body. Crank speed is key to calculating power, given powermeters measure torque.

Whereas outdoors allows me to look into water ingest concerns, temperature and humidity variations, and the all important road surface aspects I. The information from Favero was a bit…slim…for them in determining pricing. It was really cool because you could see the drift. In addition, there is no need for a battery change. The extra pedal force required to clip in and unclip is taking a little getting used to compared to my garmin vector 2 and other Keo pedals, even with the tension set as low as possible. I think we might be moving to a more profit-through-volume model at some point, when market dominance is the all important factor.

From the exploded view with the instructions it seems this is serviceable by the user? I m not certain, but I expect Bikester to have their stock notice spot on merely gut feeling though. I asked bePro if the shims would have an impact. I believe I talk about how it works in more detail in my Power2Max Type-S review. If I take just my pedals on vacation with me to use in a rental bike I might not have 2-4 rides to wait for accurate power measurements. Basically just make sure there is no play without going too crazy on it and overtighten. So, for example, in a triathlon you will calibrate your bike before it is racked. On the other hand there powertap pedals would be great if they were actually available.

A few quick thoughts on the bePro Gen2…err…Favero Assioma

bepro power meter

Other than the pod size and the somewhat tricky installation, BePro has been a solid product. Especially as I have an Ironman looming and was planning to use the pedals for that. These are used as spacers attached to the pedal, to keep your pedals from pushing up against carbon cranks. You also have the option to purchase black, 0-degree fixed float cleats. In that case, giving Bluetooth Smart a whirl may fix the issue for some. In fact, I had to add some tension to the springs because it felt like too easy to clip out. To be 100% fair to these pedals, I have no idea if this was caused during a ride, or during transport or some other situation which is 100% my fault.

Anyone else having this issue? One thing you can double check — which happened to me and drained the batteries early on — is that when you connect the pedals to the iPhone or Android app thru bluetooth to check status, battery etc. Not sure why…welcome to the realities of power meters day in and day out when recording 3-5 units every ride. Ray, Thanks for the uber speedy reply! Do you think you could protect the circular sensor body by putting some help-tape on there? I pre-ordered a pair of these pedals through Clever Training yes, I used your discount code, thank you. Pedals will automatically self-tighten and settle out over the next few rides. Also a cap for the plug is no longer needed, that was easily at the predecessor. Would love to have inside knowledge on how the power market calculates their pricing policy, and how changes to competition impact it.
