In a Facebook post last week, Behringer announced it was shipping 1,000 units of both the and synthesisers to its European retailer, Thomann. In later versions, Sequential Circuits replaced the J-wires with rubber contact cells. To be fair, one of mine has actually been pretty good, even though I rarely play it from its own keyboard, but the other is almost unusable. The Pro-One's worst characteristic is that the filter resonance absolutely destroys the low end. Using it as a modulator in the audio range results in clanging, metallic, ring modulator-like effects. Each has a wide-ranging Frequency knob, 0—3-octave switching knob, Pulse Width knob, and simultaneously obtainable wave shapes—sawtooth and pulse for Oscillator A, plus triangle as well for Oscillator B. Like the original Pro-One, the Pro-1 has the incredibly useful ability to sync its sequencer and arpeggiator to a wide range of external audio signals.

You can record two sequences of up to 32 notes each in step time and then transpose those sequences from a connected keyboard. Guitar Center's Pro Coverage Pro Coverage gives you added warranty protection for your gear. And I have a shout on a third. Hopefully the build quality of the Behringer version will be better than the original did I really just type that? Again, it is quite versatile in offering some uncommon forms of modulation and expression. That can't have been any good for the circuitry below.

One night an enthusiastic fan threw a handful of metal based glitter all over the stage, and some filtered in and shorted out a couple of traces on her pro 1 circuit board and let out the magic smoke. The onboard Arpeggiator switch features 3 positions, Up ascending , Down descending and Off. A Distinguished Panel The Mixer section lets you control the volume of both oscillators, white noise, and external audio. This amazing flexibility gives you the tools to be your creative best. Yeah, feline2 had a Pro-one, and although you could get plenty of great sounds out of it, I always thought the mechanical feel of it was very flimsy. Audio connections on minijacks include a headphone output, external audio input, mixer output, and a mono main output handy for use in a Eurorack system. Go with the Flow The panel design is very authentic down to every last detail of the typeface used, posing the question, how come this design is available for use? You will not be charged until the item ships.

. Oscillator sync and the highly flexible mod matrix add a thick layer of icing to the cake. Of course it does, and very convincingly. Places where the MiniMoog has always trodden delicately, and the Odyssey has danced in scattering fairy dust, the Pro-One arrives with a spiked wooden club. I liked my Micromoog a lot better, even though it didn't hold pitch once it got humid. Also featured in the Crave is a filter based on the Classic Moog 24dB ladder filter, which can be set to Lo or Hi-pass. The Pro-1 has a familiar signal flow.

Crave costs £131 and will ship within 1-2 weeks, according to the. Keep in mind that Oscillator B can generate either audio or sub-audio frequencies. There'll be a big market for it, and you just know B. If this sounds like a complex and versatile set of options, it is.

Another input accepts a control voltage from a modulation wheel. But it can cover plenty of other typically analog jobs too, such as making percussion sounds. Before reaching that point, though, the output loses a great deal of bass and volume. The filter can self-oscillate for whistling, abstract noise. Manufacturer's Warranty 1 year warranty. There was a local punk band that played at one of our world famous dives owned by a certain Sea Captain. Appropriate audio wiring strategies can always remove ground loops.

It's not a synth that I need I still have two original Pro-Ones! Obviously these kinds of characteristics aren't going to suit all people or styles, but you'll know within minutes if it's for you or not. An ultra-affordable homage to that iconic synthesizer with all the features of the o. Not only is it the most clattery keyboard on the planet, but for most it was also extremely unreliable. An Old Friend Returns It has been a pleasure to revisit the classic sounds of the Pro-One. The original Sequential Circuits Pro-One debuted in 1981. What was typical of the Pro-One, accurately reproduced here, is what the filter does when you turn up the resonance. I used the original Sequential Circuits Pro-One quite extensively when it was first released, and the new Pro-1 matches its sound in every aspect. The voltage-controlled oscillators use the same chip and sound strong, and the filter design is carefully matched to the sound of its namesake. I have to say that I owned one of these and didn't particularly love the sound, by then I was more about poly synths, too. Its construction feels sturdy, and I see no evidence that Behringer cut any corners in its construction. These days I will track a second pass with zero resonance to add the lows.
